About Jansen
Jansen is a community of about 150 people located west of Big Quill Lake, on Highway 16.
This is one of the best goose hunting areas and even has a Goose Shoot weekend with prizes and a banquet.

Big News For The Jansen Area
The big news for the Jansen area in 2011 is the announcement that BHP Billiton is proceeding with work at their Jansen Project, an underground potash mine to be located north of Jansen.Quoting from one of BHP's newsletters, " Based on current production estimates, at full capacity, the Jansen project will be the largest potash mine in the world. "
This project is expected to be a big economic boom for the area, employing hundreds of people in the construction stage and hundreds of people for the long term operating stage.
