About Us

Rural Municipality of Lakeside # 338

The RM of Lakeside is located at the northwest corner of the Quill Lakes, bordering the north shore of Big Quill Lake and the west shore of Little Quill Lake.

The land is mostly flat, good for growing grain crops. Our agriculture is mostly grain farms with some livestock.

Our population is 444 people living on farms and acreages.

Highways #6 and #5 run thru the RM, providing very good access to and from our area.
Highway # 6 is a major CanAm highway connecting town and cities from the US border to the edge of the forest of northern Saskatchewan.
Highway # 5 connects all the towns from the Manitoba border to the city of Saskatoon.

The Village of Quill Lake is located in our RM, on Highway # 5, near the center of the RM.
The Town of Watson is located at the intersection of the two highways near the northwest corner of our RM.
Watson is the largest town in the area, Quill Lake a little smaller. Between them, the businesses have most of the services that our people need.

For detailed statistics about our municipality and the surrounding towns and municipalities, you can see the Carlton Trail REDA website
