The Rural Municipality of Lakeside is located at the northwest corner of the Quill Lakes, bordering the north shore of Big Quill Lake and the west shore of Little Quill Lake.
Our
population is 444 people living on farms and acreages. The land is mostly flat,
good for growing grain crops. Our agriculture is mostly grain farms with some
livestock.
Highways #6 and #5 run thru the RM, providing very good
access to and from our area. Highway # 6 is a major CanAm highway connecting
towns and cities from the US border to the edge of the forest of northern
Saskatchewan. Highway # 5 connects all the towns from the Manitoba border to the
city of Saskatoon.
The Village of Quill Lake is located in our RM, on Highway # 5, near the center of the RM. The Town of Watson is also located in our RM, at the intersection of the Highways #5 and #6, near the northwest corner of our RM. Watson is the largest town in the area, Quill Lake a little smaller.
There are numerous businesses located within the RM, in the Town of Watson and The Village of Quill Lake and on the farms. Please refer to the Quill Lake Internet Directory and the Watson Internet Directory for information about these businesses.
