About Wadena

 

Wadena is a prosperous town of about 1500 people 
located northeast of the Quill Lakes at the junction of Highways #5 and #35.
 
All services are available here.

There are great opportunities here for learning about waterfowl and shorebirds. You can visit the Wadena Wetlands which has a viewing tower and kilometers of walking trails.

Ducks Unlimited Canada has an office here and conducts programs to aid in the recovery of waterfowl populations across the continent.

In the fall, thousands of Snow Geese, Canada Geese and Sandhill Cranes stop in this area on their southbound migration.  The area is very popular with hunters, many of whom travel here from across Canada and the United States. Here is information about hunting and fishing in this area.

The Resort Communities of Fishing Lake - Saskin Beach, Buck Horn Bay, Kuroki Beach are close to Wadena and offer recreation on one of the cleanest lakes in Saskatchewan.
