Murals of Wadena

A number of lovely murals beautify buildings in downtown Wadena. 

A group of local artists wished to share the heritage of their community with others and embarked on a mission to make a variety of aspects of this area visible to residents, visitors and tourists through public art. 

Each mural tells a unique story and is a symbolic of the town at the same time. The murals depict fashionable ladies, shorebirds, rural life and leisure. 

The mural project started when a few artists decided to donate their talents and abilities to enhance the community. They completed panels indoors in the winter and endured everything but rain while working outdoors in the summer. Their dedication is apparent and they reached their goal of completing 15 murals. It is obvious that it has been an extremely successful project for all involved.

        The Wadena mural artists, volunteers and sponsors have created another major attraction for visitors of this area.
