About Watson

Watson is a thriving community of 850 people, located at the Junction of Highway 6 and Highway 5, northwest of the Big Quill Lake.

Watson town Logo

This progressive town boasts a manufacturing sector and a progressive attitude. The location, as well as the fact that it is surrounded by a number of  innovative industrial businesses, lends to Watson’s slogan "The Industrial Crossroads of Saskatchewan".

Watson claims to be the site of the original Santa Claus Day. In 1922, a settler named Jake Smith formulated the idea of having a Santa Claus Day. The town still celebrates the event and has erected a 25 foot Santa Claus. Be sure to have your photo taken with Santa.
